Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 12/14/1893 Patten, Nora (24
NOV 1870 - 11 Dec 1893) Died, at her home
in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., adjoining the city limits
on the north, on Monday evening, Dec. 11th, 1893, of consumption,
Nora, beloved wife of Willard H. Patten, aged 23 years and 17
days. Nora Schultz was
born in Dubuque, Iowa, Nov. 24th, 1870, coming to this place with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz, while yet a mere child, and
here among us, where she had grown to womanhood "pure and fair,"
she counted her friends by the score. Oct. 27th, 1889, she was
united in marriage with Willard H. Patten, who survives her to
mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife. This union was blessed
with one child, a babe of about two years is thus early deprived of
a mother’s tender care. The funeral
occurred today at the Lutheran Church, Rev. J. R. Fiehler,
officiating, and the remains were interred in Colby Cemetery, where
they were followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and
relatives.
