Thanksgiving is a day that is not observed appropriately by all the citizens. They discard the proclamation of the governor and the president. This is very injudicious and if you are among them you belong to a class which really does not deserve the name of American citizens. We have a Ruler of all nations - a giver of all good. To give thanks to him is your duty, as you have enjoyed many blessings which others have not. By aiding the needy on that day you will do a good deed. Be an American in the full sense of the word and observe the day as one grateful to live beneath the stars of liberty.
