A. Benedict lost a fine cow last week.
Bertha Winn is reported to be seriously ill. She is under Dr. Esch’s care. A speedy recovery is hoped for.
Joe Palmer’s familiar face, of Hemlock, was seen on our streets one day last week.
Geo. Huntley has been hauling hay from Greenwood lately.
The Free Methodists are making preparations to build a new church.
Bert Lawrence purchased a folding sawing machine of A. P. Fulwiler last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Benedict were agreeably surprised last Wednesday evening by the M. E. Society. Mr. Benedict is janitor of the M. E. Church and $6 was taken in and handed over to him. The evening was spent in playing games and sociability.
Fred Root, of Fond du Lac County, visited his brother George the past week.
Norman Shafer is preparing to build a handsome residence in the spring.
Mrs. Maria Davidson and daughter, Mrs. Hodge, of Neillsville, are visiting Chas. Benedict and wife.
Wm. Rowe is erecting a fine barn.
Joseph Krejci, of Myra, Washington County, was the guest of his brother Frank the past week.
It is too bad the Times correspondent, of York, imagines himself to be the fifth wheel of a wagon. His tongue hinges on a pivot and the way he drives at us is a caution. We would suggest that someone paint a chromo in the shape of an ape, so he can have it to hang in his front room, to remind him, when he chances to look at it, what an object he is. Now Mr. Cyclone, we know who you are if you do change your name twice a week. You might just as well come off for your perch.
Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Gibson are rejoicing over the advent of a son.
Miss Ida Walters, of Pleasant Ridge, visited friends in this vicinity the latter part of the week.
The schools in York have opened with the following teachers: Dist. No. 2, E. A. Beeckler; No. 2, Grace Harriman; No. 3, C. Brooks; No. 4, Mrs. James McKenzie; and No. 5, Ethel Kemery.
Perry Palmer and wife went to Hemlock Saturday to visit friends and relatives.
J. J. Rowe, Sr., returned to Plymouth, Monday.
Mrs. Whalen returned from Fond du Lac County, Wednesday.
C. B. Tremain, agent for the Waukesha Nursery Co., canvassed the Town for fruit trees last week.
