Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Young, a daughter. That accounts for the unusually broad smile on Ed’s face.

J. I. Lincoln made a trip to Lynn on business last Wednesday.

In writing up our items last week, we forgot to mention the surprise party that was given to Sadie Graves in honor of her twentieth birthday. Those present had a pleasant time. That she May live to enjoy many more such happy occasions is the wish of every one.

S. W. Bolton sold a fine pacer last week to Will Garbush.

Perry Campbell made a trip to Loyal Sunday.

W. C. Fulwiler and E. M. Cochrane transacted business at Granton, Saturday.

The dance at Frank Turners last Saturday night was well attended. Mr. McKimm and M. W. Lawrence furnished the music.

The Sunday School entertainment was a decided success. The Juvenile brass band of Neillsville was in attendance, and was greeted by a large audience in spite of the storm. Something over $7.00 was realized. One of the band boys froze his cheeks on the way home.

Misses Effie and Mabel Gibson were the guests of Miss Gusta Lee, at her home in Granton, Saturday.

Last Friday afternoon Alex Holverman drove up from Neillsville and halted at the F. M. Church, which has the appearance of a dwelling house, to warm up. He inquired of a chopper near by, "Who in Sam Hill lives here?" and imagine his surprise and dismay when he was informed that it was a church. He said he was most frozen, but had to proceed on his way.
