Joseph William "Bud" Struensee, Jr., age 83, of Neillsville, passed away at St. Joseph Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield, Wis. Nov.29, 1994 at 1:50 p.m.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2 1994, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville with Rev. James Gordon of Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville officiating. The pallbearers were Mark, Mike, Tim, Kevin, Joey, Steve, Jeff and Phillip Struensee. Place of burial was the Neillsville City Cemetery. The body lay in state at Gesche Funeral Home, Thursday Dec. 1, 1994 from 6 to 9 p.m. and until the time of the service on Friday.
Struensee was born Jan. 4, 1911 in Neillsville to Joseph Sr. and Tina (Prokop) Struensee. He married Evelyn Zuehlke Feb.10, 1950 in Neillsville. He received his education in Neillsville. After his schooling he farmed and was a logger in the area. He then began a chainsaw business in Neillsville (Struensee Sales and Service) and continued to own and operate that business for the last 40 years. He had a great love for fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Neillsville; six sons; Floyd, Darrell, Robert, Warren, and Dale Struensee all of Neillsville, and Jerome Schroeder of Vero Beach, Fla.; four daughters; Carol Sparks of Grafton, Wis.; Geraldine Flegner of Sussex, Wis.; Shirley Bryan of Tennessee; Alice Zelasko of Henderson, Nev.; 30 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Struensee of Neillsville and one sister, Blanche Lebeck of Cicero, Ill.
Preceding him in death are one son, Richard Struensee; three stepsons, Harvey, Don, and Jim Schroeder; two brothers and one sister in infancy.
