Luepke, Herman "Ham" (17 June 1913 - 11 Oct. 1985)
Spencer - Herman "Ham" Luepke, 72, of 400 W. Main St., Spencer, died at Beaver Dam Community Hospital Saturday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. William Ruhbusch will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Douglas and Tom Krokstrom, Kim, Walter Jr. and Todd Luepke, and Randy and James Mellenthin.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.
Mr. Luepke was born June 17, 1913, in the Town of Brighton, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luepke. He married Eleanor Mellenthin Sept. 25, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. She survives.
He was superintendent of the Water Department for the Village of Spencer for 11 years, retiring in 1975. He previously ran a trucking business.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council.
Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Krokstrom, Lincoln, Neb.; one son, Neil, Marshfield; six grandchildren; two brothers, Walter and Emil, both of Spencer, and one sister Mrs. Ervin (Nilda) Rindfleisch, Spencer.
He was predeceased by one son, Dennis; his parents; his step-father, H. R. Neuman, and one brother.
