COLBY, WIS. - Helen Meyers, 93, Route 2, Colby, Wisconsin, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted May 16.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Church of Christ, Colby. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in the North Green Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday at Rux Funeral Home, Colby.
The former Helen Schoelzel was born Feb. 28, 1893, in Chicago, a daughter of August and Ann (Schulz) Schoelzel. She attended Cloverdale School in the Town of Green Grove.
She worked in Chicago before her marriage on Oct. 6, 1915, to Herbert Meyers, Sr., in Colby. After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Green Grove until they retired in 1957. Her husband died in February 1966.
She was a member of First Untied church of Christ and its Women’s Guild and Royal Neighbors of America, in Colby.
Surviving are one son; Herbert Meyers, Jr., Curtiss; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John (Ella) Leonhard, Lake Geveva.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; two sisters and one brother.
