Johnson, Charlotte A. (3 July 1916 – 2 May 2005)
Charlotte A. Johnson, age 88, of 603 Collins St., Plymouth, passed away later Monday evening, May 2, 2005, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility following an extended struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born July 3, 1916 in Neillsville, Wis., a daughter of the late Leslie and Amelia Keitel Hubbard.
She graduate from Janesville Parker High School and then attended Milton College, where she met her husband, Robert. They were married Sept. 19, 1939 in Janesville. The couple lived in Milwaukee, Thiensville, Appleton and Adell before settling in Plymouth in 1952.
She had been a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth. She was also active in her community and was a member of the Plymouth Women’s Club, the Plymouth Book Club and had been a member of the Loyalty Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Plymouth.
Charlotte will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the nurturing of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; four children, Jeff (Virginia) of Vermillion, S.D., Ted (Betty) of Milwaukee, R.Scott ( Amy) of Watertown and Michael (Bobbie) of Naperville, Ill.; as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, Steven, and one sister, Mildred Kerr. Funeral services will be held Thursday evening, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. William Rishel, pastor of First Congregational UCC will officiate. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends May call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home from 5 p.m. Thursday until the hour of service. A memorial fund will be established in Charlotte’s name for the Activities Department at Rocky Knoll.
