Poeske, Arnold (17 Feb. 1917 - 12 July 2005)

Arnold Poeske, 88, of Wausau, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at his home.

Arnold was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Wausau to the late August and Martha (Loeffel) Poeske. He married LaMoine Johnson June 25, 1938, in Curtiss.

Arnold worked for the Social Security Administration for more than 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Men's Breakfast Club and First English Church. Arnold had been involved in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed golfing and playing cards, especially sheepshead and bridge.

Survivors include his wife, LaMoine of Wausau; one son, Roger (Coreen) Poeske, Wausau; seven grandchildren, Heath Poeske, Jason Poeske, Jennifer Poeske, Daun Musch, Denise Mauer, Dale Poeske Jr. and Dick Poeske; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Schubring, Wausau. Arnold was preceded in death by two sons, Marshall and Dale Sr.; and three sisters, Laura Plautz, Selma Malzahn and Ruth Welter.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2005, at First English Lutheran Church in Wausau. The Rev. Jay Kamrath will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the Helke Funeral Home in Wausau and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
