A portion of the friends and neighbors who turned out recently for the annual "Spiegel picnic" is pictured above. The picnic is an annual affair held by Mr. and Mrs. Spiegel of Washburn (fourth and fifth from the left in the bottom row). It is held at their hunting lodge, one building of which is in the background. One of the interesting features of the hunting lodge is the stone "wall of the states" which May be seen in the picture. In it are stones from probably half of the states of the United States. Mostly they were brought by the Spiegel's son, Edgar, who hauls trailer homes into many states. Each time he goes into a new state he brings home a rock for Mrs. Spiegel to put into the wall.
