(1885 - 12 NOV 1914) Henry Bartsch, a
young man about nineteen years old was killed by the west bound
passenger train east of Granton, Clark County Thursday night. He
and his brother had been at Granton and were walking home on the
railroad track, and met the train. The brother saw that he made no
move to get off the track and called to him to step off, but he was
too slow, the train engine struck him, killing him almost
instantly. His home is a short distance north of Lynn. His father
was killed a few years ago by falling from a railroad trestle north
of Lynn.
