Johana, wife of Carl Zachernitz, died at her home in Pine Valley,
Clark County, Feb. 2, 1915, at 7:30 a.m., aged 69 years, 10 months
and 4 days. She was born in Germany March 29, 1845 and grew to
womanhood there. On Dec. 26, 1868 she was married to Mr.
Zachernitz, and for many years they continued to live in Germany,
the husband carrying on a large and successful business. About
fifteen years ago they came here and lived most of the time since
on their farm. She was a lady of education and culture, a good
wife, mother and kind neighbor. Besides her
husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Martha Hachman of St.
Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Allen Wildish of Pine Valley; four sons,
Henry, Carl, Robert and Edmond, all living here; also one sister
and one brother in Germany. The funeral was
held Friday at the Presbyterian Church, Rev. S.B. Pinney
officiating.
