County Republican & Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 07/29/1915 Morris, Laura A.
(25 NOV 1859 - 26 Jul 1915) Mrs. Morris, who
has been suffering for a quarter century, passed away quietly early
Monday morning. Laura Arvilla Head
was born Nov. 25th, 1859 in Cataract, Wis. She moved to
Neillsville, Clark County with her parents in 1867 and graduated
from the Neillsville High School at its second commencement. For a
time she taught school. She was married in
1878 to Thomas Morris of Janesville, Wis. Mr. Morris died in
1910. Mrs. Morris was a
member of the Presbyterian Church and her faith in God sustained
here during her prolonged suffering. Her cheerfulness and patience
were remarkable, to which her many friends will testify. Being an
old resident of Neillsville, many in this locality will mourn her
death. She leaves three
children, Claire C. of Portersville, Cal., Miss Blanche Morris and
Lynn Morris, both of Neillsville; Mrs. Almira Head, her mother,
also of Neillsville, and a brother, Maurice G., survive her. The funeral
service will be held at the home Thursday at 2 o’clock. Rev.
S.B. Pinney will have charge of the service. The music will be
rendered by Miss Zura Fricke, Mrs. Burge and Miss Imig.
