Holverson died at her home in Neillsville, Clark County, Sunday
Oct. 10, 1915, after an illness of several months. Deceased, whose
maiden name was Hattie Babcock was born in the State of New York
and came to Wisconsin with her parents when quite young, and has
been a resident of Neillsville about 49 years. She was first
married to E.H. Markey of this city, who died about twenty years
ago. Four years later she was married to Mr. Holverson, who
survives her. She leaves few near relatives in this vicinity. Chas.
Babcock is a nephew. She was a most excellent woman and greatly
loved by all who knew her best. She was an active member of the
Women’s Relief Corps for many years, also of the Royal
Neighbors. The funeral was
held at the home Tuesday, Rev. L.B. Colman preaching the funeral
sermon, the Royal Neighbors, W.R.C. and G.A.R. attending as a body
and the W.R. C. services also being used. Those here from a
distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John A. Silnick of
Chicago; Mrs. C.E. Reichenbeck of Merrillan, Mrs. Jeff Peaslee and
Miss Jennie Reichenbeck of Black River Falls; Mrs. W.H. Woodworth
of Eau Claire and Mrs. Geo. Ringrose of Alma Center.
