(10 Feb 1816 - 3 NOV 1915) Jacob Vanderhoof,
Clark County’s oldest inhabitant, died Nov. 3, 1915 at the
home of his son, Wesley Vanderhoof, in the town of Sherman, Clark
County, aged 99 years, 8 moths and 21 days. He was born in
Boonton, N.J. In 1870 he came to Plymouth, Wis., and in 1874 to
Clark County, where he has since lived. He was a most interesting
man. He leaves ten
children: Wesley and Charles of the town of Sherman; Ward of Loyal;
Rachel Lang of Merrill; Mrs. Ed Kayhart and Mrs. M. Degrau of the
town of Sherman; Mrs. Frank Neil of Duluth; Walter of Fairview,
Mont.; Elijah and Mrs. John Gosline of Washington; and one sister
living in New Jersey, 45 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
