Joy, Byron (AUG 1833 - 13 Dec 1915)

Byron Joy, who had been in feeble health for some time, died at his home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) Dec. 13, 1915, aged 82 years and 4 months. He was born in Vermont, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage with Emeline Conkel in 1860. For some time they lived in Dodge Co., then in Minnesota for several years, coming to Neillsville, Clark County in 1903. His wife died about two years ago. He leaves to sons, Frank of Neillsville, Ed of Campbell, Minn., also two sisters: Mrs. Stewart of Fargo, N.D. and Mrs. Schreiber of Keeler, Can. Mr. Joy was a genial kindly gentleman, with a cheerful word for everyone, even after his health failed and life had lost much of its bright side. He was an honest upright man and a good citizen. The funeral was held at the home Thursday, Rev. Mr. Bunker of Lake Mills preaching the funeral sermon.
