1833 - 13 Dec 1915) Byron Joy, who had
been in feeble health for some time, died at his home in this city
(Neillsville, Clark County) Dec. 13, 1915, aged 82 years and 4
months. He was born in Vermont, where he grew to manhood. He was
united in marriage with Emeline Conkel in 1860. For some time they
lived in Dodge Co., then in Minnesota for several years, coming to
Neillsville, Clark County in 1903. His wife died about two years
ago. He leaves to sons, Frank of Neillsville, Ed of Campbell,
Minn., also two sisters: Mrs. Stewart of Fargo, N.D. and Mrs.
Schreiber of Keeler, Can. Mr. Joy was a genial kindly gentleman,
with a cheerful word for everyone, even after his health failed and
life had lost much of its bright side. He was an honest upright man
and a good citizen. The funeral was held at the home Thursday, Rev.
Mr. Bunker of Lake Mills preaching the funeral sermon.
