Muck, Elizabeth (21 OCT 1835 - 8 Mar 1916)

Mrs. Elizabeth Muck died at her home in this city March 8th, 1916, after a long illness from sclerosis of the arteries. At the last pneumonia set in, which was the immediate cause of her death.

Mrs. Muck was born Oct. 21, 1835 at Deersheim, Bavaria, Germany, her maiden name being Elizabeth Mueller, In 1853 she immigrated with friends to America. On Nov. 13, 1856 she was married to Gottlieb Muck at Jefferson, Wis., where they lived till about 1890, when they came to Clark County and bought a farm in the town of York. There they made their home till the fall of 1890, when they moved to Neillsville. Two years later Mrs. Muck died and Mrs. Muck continued to live here with her daughter Ella, who gave her the most devoted care, watching over her almost constantly day and night for the past year. During the years of health and strength, Mrs. Muck looked after the welfare of her home and family with that care and industry that marks the high type of wife and mother. She did well her part in life.

To Mr. and Mrs. Muck were born seven children: one son, Frank, died at the age of eight years, and two others who lived to manhood, Ernst and Adolph, are deceased. Those living are W.A. Muck and Mrs. Lena Melzer of Jefferson, Wis.; Peter Muck, Los Angeles, Cal.; and Miss Ella Muck, Neillsville.

The funeral took place Saturday at Jefferson, burial taking place in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery in that city.
