County Republican & Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 05/04/1916 Mundt, William (5
MAY 1869 - 1 May 1916) Wm. Mundt, who has
been sick since last October, died Sunday at the age of 47. He was
born in Brown Co. May 5, 1869 and came to Clark County with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mundt in 1882. They settled in the town
of Fremont. The next year "Billy", as he was familiarly called,
came to Neillsville, and began work for Matt Kapellen as a
shoemaker, following the trade for many years. Later he was at
Duluth and then returned to Neillsville, being in the saloon
business here for some time. Among his friends and companions he
was greatly esteemed, for he was very kind hearted. He leaves his
parents, three brothers and two sister. Burial took place Tuesday
in the Yolo Cemetery in Fremont, under the auspices of the Moose
Lodge of Neillsville, of which deceased was a member. About
sixty-five members attended the funeral, the ritual service being
given and an address by Editor C. Rabenstein.
