Beardsley, Mr./Mrs. George (Gold Anniv - 30 NOV 1915)
Tuesday evening Nov. 30, 1915, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beardsley celebrated their fiftieth anniversary of their wedding at their home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.). It was a gather of children, grandchildren and family friends - a real "home wedding", but delightfully pretty in all its details and arrangements. The re-enacted ceremony was performed by Rev. L.B. Colman, and two grandchildren, Clyde Parker of Deer River, Minn., and Sylvia Beardsley of Norway, Mich., acted as groomsman and bridesmaid, carrying yellow chrysanthemums. The bride wore gray silk trimmed with white lace, and, notwithstanding her years of active work, she appeared a most comely bride.
The ceremony took place in the bay window banked with chrysanthemums and overhung with a beautiful wedding bell draped in Yellow and white. The ring ceremony was used, and little Mary Evelyn Neverman, a grandchild of only two, acted as ring bearer, performing the part beautifully. The color scheme of all the rooms was yellow and white; cut flowers in vases adorning the tables, stands and niches. The dining room was beautifully draped in yellow and white and the bride cake draped in flowers bore on each quarter the number 50. At each guest’s plate was a yellow chrysanthemum. A three course dinner, a most beautiful repast was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Beardsley were married at Tomah, Wis. fifty years ago. They went to housekeeping at Limerick in a little log cabin. Mr. Beardsley was employed in a sawmill and his youthful bride, only sixteen years of age, attended school nearby. He is fond of relating that from where he worked he could see her out with the other children playing at recess. But while she has always taken a cheerful view of life, the past half century has not all be play for the bride. She has been an active worker for husband, home and family, and did her share and more in church and charitable organizations. In 1882 they moved to a farm west of Neillsville, and in 1885 moved to the city, which has ever since been their home. Mr. Beardsley engaged in business and later did a great deal of well drilling, making a close study of land strata in this locality, and is very well posted on local geology. He has long been an active member of the Free Masons and the G.A.R.. Mrs. Beardsley is prominent in the church, The W.R.C., the W.C.T.U. and O.E.S.
They have seven grown up children: Mrs. Millard Parker of Deer River, Minn., A.J. Beardsley of Leavenworth, Wash., Mrs. W.J. Eilert of Fresno, Cal., Mrs. J.L. Neverman of Neillsville, Miss Delia Beardsley of Chicago, Mrs. Wm. Huntley Jr., Neillsville and C.O. Beardsley, Norway, Mich. All except A.J. Beardsley and Miss Delia were present at the golden wedding. They have also seven grandchildren. The out of town guests besides members of the family were Mr. and Mrs. J. Beardsley of Tomah and Mr. and Mrs. Homer King of Granton.
While the "bride and groom" stand facing the western slope of life, they remain active in their interests and helpful in their work with all good things in the community. We join with their legion of friends in wishing them many years still of happy, useful life.

Is Mrs. Millard Parker really named Ida Isola Beardsley? And who might the parents of Clyde Parker be?
