About 1927, a gas station was constructed south of the Curtiss Garage by Wm.
Klessig. It was originally a Standard station. Throughout the years, the service
was operated and/or owned by Big Tour Oil Co., Walter Ecker, Herman Long, Rodney
Hawks and Robert Gosse. In 1966, after Rod Hawks purchased the station, he built
an addition to the original station, selling to Robert Gosse in 1970. Rod hawks
then built a shop at Curtiss Corners. In 1978, Les Bowen purchased the gas
station from Robert and Sherwin Gosse and now is used for storage.
