(Marriage - 6 Sep 1884) At the residence
of the groom’s mother, on Sept. 6, 1884, Elijah S. Warner and
Mary A. Thombson, of Duran, Pepin Co., were united in the holy
bonds of matrimony, by D. T. Donahoe, Justice of the Peace. At the
close of the ceremony the bridal pair were congratulated by a
sudden enthusiastic salute of cannon, fife and drums, from a
serenading party to which Elijah responded by accompanying the boys
to Ed Simerson’s sample room, where they indulged freely in
the ardent and wished Mr. and Mrs. Warner abundance of happiness
and a multitude of ruddy fat faces.
