died at her home in this place (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.)
Friday at 12:15 P.M. of tuberculosis, after an illness of several
weeks. Deceased was 22
years, 6 months and 9 days of age and was born at Jefferson, Wis.,
where she spent the early part of her life. She received a common
school education at that place and later went tot he Lake Mills
High school until ill health prevented her attendance. In the fall
of 1903 she came to Greenwood with her parents, making their home
with them until a few years ago when she went to Milwaukee to do
general house work and later to Chicago, where she remained until
the forepart of December, when she came home on account of
sickness, which later caused her death. Miss Smith was a
member of the Methodist Sunday School and a consistent Christian to
the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loss a father and
mother, four brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were held
in the Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev.
S.E. Sweet officiating. Those acting as
pall bearers were John Arends, Geo. Einfeldt, J. Steiger, F.
Sillick and Wellen Hartson. The remains were
interred in the Greenwood Cemetery.
