GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 05/12/1910 Gustafson, August
(17 May 1859 - 7 May 1910) August Gustafson,
who died at his home four and one-half miles northeast of this city
(Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.), on Saturday morning May 7, 1910 at
2:45, after only a week’s illness, was born in the village of
Turbodba, Sweden, May 17, 1859. He was married in Sweden to Miss
Christiana Pearson, by which union one son, David, was born. He
came alone to this country to Chicago in 1891, his wife following a
year later, and in 1893 moved to the farm on which he has since
lived and died. His wife died Dec.
30, 1905, and in June 1907, he married Augusta A. Pearson, a cousin
of his first wife, who with the one son, survive him; no children
were born from the second union. He was a member of
the Beavers of this city and was considered a strictly home-loving
man of sterling qualities and will be greatly missed by his loved
ones. The funeral
services were conducted yesterday by Rev. Adolph Dyre at the home,
and the remains were laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
