GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 11/07/1907 Millard, Byron (19
APR 1898 - 31 OCT 1907) Byron Millard,
second son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Millard, age nine, died Thursday
nigh at about 10 o’clock. He had been feeling all right up to
Wednesday nigh, when he complained of a pain in his stomach. No
alarm was taken at this, however, his parents believing it to be
merely stomach ache. About ten o’clock that evening he woke
up with headache and fever and pain in his stomach. He continued in
this condition that nigh and in the morning Dr. Schofield was
called. Little could be done to relieve him and he died that nigh.
Meningitis or brain fever was the cause of death. The funeral
service was held Sunday afternoon in the M.E. Church (Greenwood,
Clark County, Wis.), Rev. W.T. Hendren conducting the service. The
remains were laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Millard and
family are deeply grateful to the neighbors and friends for the
kindness felt and expressed during this severe trial.
