GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 11/28/1912 Kessel, Lydia J.
(5 Dec 1882 - 20 Nov 1912) Mrs. Loos and
family of this city (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.), received the
sad news last week of the death of their daughter and sister, who
had been suffering at Excelsior Springs, Mo. For some time past
with Bright’s disease. Lydia Johana Loos
was born at Potters Mills, Calumet Co., Wis., Dec. 5, 1882. A
greater part of her life was spent here and at Port Hope, Mich.,
attending the public schools and accomplishing the art of a
splendid musician, having a fine soprano voice. She was married to
John Kessel Sept. 17, 1908 and moved to Rapid City, S.D., and later
to Riceville, Iowa, where a little son was born to them on Oct.
20. In August symptoms
of Bright’s disease appeared and in spite of the best medical
aid that could be obtained she passed away at Excelsior Springs,
Mo. Nov. 20th, 1912. Deceased was of a
very kindly disposition and made many warm friends wherever she
went. She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, a mother, two
sisters, two brothers, a husband and little child. The funeral was
held at the home of Mrs. Loos Saturday afternoon, Rev. Otto Saewert
officiating. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery.
