M. (19 Jan 1859 - 11 NOV 1915) Daniel Manison
Stoneberg was born in Ontario, Canada, Jan. 19, 1859 and came to
Wisconsin thirty-eight years ago, settling on a piece of land a few
miles south and east of Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., where he
prospered and made himself a home. Some two or three years ago he
bought a home in this city, where he and his family have since
resided. On Apr. 30, 1881,
deceased was married to Miss Olive Cox and to this union were born
nine children, Herbert, Berton, Helen Syth and Louis of Montana,
Edmund, who is in the U.S. Army, Violet of Fifield, Ray, Ivan and
Mrs. Charlotte Francis of this city. Mrs. Stoneberg died in 1899
and on Aug. 10, 1901, he was married to Miss Gertie Howe. To them
were born six children, Edith, May, Edna, Ervin and Norman, who
survive him and Lilas, who died a short time ago. He also leaves
one brother, Bert, of the town of Eaton. Deceased was
always a hard working, industrious man who strived to do his best
at all times. Those who knew him best will cherish most the memory
of his kindly disposition. Mr. Stoneberg was
taken ill several months ago and had gradually faded up to the time
of death. In Septemeber he made a trip to Montana, thinking a
change of climate would be beneficial to him, but he soon returned
in a worse condition of health. He died Sunday,
Nov. 11th, and was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery, the
funeral being held Wednesday at the M.E. Church, Rev. J.S.
Willmarth officiating.
