(12 JUN 1836 - 11 JUN 1915) Another of our old
residents has been called from us by death within the past week is
the person of Mrs. Marvin, who lived in Greenwood, Clark County,
Wis. for a number of years, but recently has made her home with her
son, who lives west of town. She went to Black River Falls on June
1st to visit her daughter, who resides there and on Friday of last
week she ate her breakfast with the family and was in apparent good
health, later in the morning she laid down to rest and passed away.
She leaves three sons, four daughters and a number of grandchildren
to mourn her loss, to all of whom we extend our sympathies.
Services ere held at the Baptist Church on Monday, June 14.
Interment took place in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. S. Dunlop,
pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated at church and
graveside. Maria C. Walter
was born at Hastings, Oswego Co., N.Y., on June 12th, 1836. She was
married on Dec. 31st, 1849 to Mathew Marvin. The family came
west in 1854 and settled at Black River Falls, where they lived
until coming to Greenwood thirty-three years ago. Seven children
survive her, Mrs. T.R. Vine of Terrace, Mont., Ida A Wilson of
Greenwood, Adaline Laib of B. R. Falls, W.S. Marvin of Greenwood,
Mrs. McCalvey of Neillsville, Geo. E. Marvin of Idaho, and Baxter
of Superior.
