GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 12/20/1917 Volk, Frank (1903
–18 Dec 1917) Frank Volk was
accidentally shot near his home at Gorman, Clark County, Wis.
Monday afternoon. In company with Frank Puhop, a schoolmate of his,
he was on his way home from school Monday afternoon. Puhop had a
revolver with which he was playing and which accidentally
discharge, the bullet going through Volk’s neck. Geo.
McCormick, who teaches at that school, went to the scene and took
care of Volk, bringing him to this city (Greenwood, Wis.) Monday
evening. Tuesday morning George took the unfortunate one to the
Marshfield Hospital, where he died that afternoon. Frank Volk was a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Volk Sr., farmers residing near Gorman,
and was about fourteen years of age. The funeral will be held
today.
