(17 Apr 1876 - 5 Apr 1919) Clara C. Fillner
was born April 17, 1876, in the town of Farmington, La Crosse Co.,
Wis. She died at the Lutheran Hospital Moline, Ill. April 5, 1919,
aged 42 years, 11 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to
Haskel McCarty June 6, 1899, at Longwood, Clark County, Wis.. to
this union were born two daughters, Irene, who preceded her mother
in death, and Alida Beryl, who with her father, is left to mourn
the loss of a mother and companion. She also leaves her father and
mother, five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. McCarty was
an active member of the First Methodist Church of Rock Island,
Ill., and held a position of District President of the
Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Rock Island District,
Central Ill. Conference at the time of her death. The remains were
brought to Greenwood and funeral services held in the Methodist
Church Tuesday afternoon,, conducted by the pastor J.A. Moats.
Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
