APR 1872 - 29 Mar 1921) Frank Norris, for
many years a resident of Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., died at St.
Joseph’s Hospital Chippewa Falls, Tuesday afternoon, March
29, 1921. His death came as a result of a nervous collapse due
primarily to an attack of influenza last fall. Mr. Norris and
family moved to Cornell in the summer of 1919, where Mr. Norris has
been employed by the Cornell Wood Products Co. He has been in por
health all winter and has been in the hospital for the past
month. The body was
brought here for burial in the Greenwood Cemetery, the funeral
taking place Friday afternoon at the Baptist Church, Rev. Bickell,
pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the services, preaching
from John 17:3, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee,
the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.." Pallbearers were
E.F. Wollenberg, John Drummond, Albert Shanks, Geo. Einfeldt, Geo.
Poole, W.I. Wells. Frank Leslie
Norris was born April 6, 1872, at Stockbridge, Calumet County,
Wis., where he spent his boyhood and grew to manhood. He was
married in 1895 to Miss Mabel Ware, who died here in the town of
Eaton about ten years later. To this union was born one son, Ralph,
who survives his father. Mr. and Mrs.
Norris lived for a number of years in Iowa, coming to Greenwood
over twenty years ago. Mr. Norris was employed here as clerk in the
Big Store, Burch and Taylor’s, E.T. Burch and for a number of
years was assistant cashier in the Greenwood State Bank. In 1909 he was
married to Miss Grace Oelig, of this city. To this union was born
one child, a daughter Kathryn, July 1, 1910, who died the following
March. Deceased is
survived by his wife, his son Ralph, his foster daughter, Audrey,
two brothers, Lewis of Wausau and James of Stevens Point, one
sister, Mrs. Albert Schwarze and his step-mother, Mrs. Celia
Norris, of this city. Mr. Norris was a
faithful Christian, a member of the Baptist Church, a staunch
supporter of all the church’s activities and of all moral
reforms. He was a firm believer in the individual Christian’s
share and responsibility in telling the Gospel story.
