M. (31 May 1867 - 4 Apr 1921) Myrtle May Apker
was born May 31, 1867, in the town of Woodland, Sauk Co., Wis. In 1890 she was
united in marriage to J.S. Sloniker at Reedsburg, Wis. They made
their home at Hillsboro, Wis. for a few years and in 1896 moved to
their present home, 3 miles east of Greenwood, Clark County,
Wis. Six children were
born to this union, they being Earl, Greenwood; Mrs. Elmer Horn,
Spencer; Mrs. Arnold Beyer, Greenwood; Mrs. Oscar Bragstad, Atwood;
Wren, who died Dec. 13, 1915 and Ross, who is still residing at
home. Deceased was taken
to the hospital at Eau Claire, March 26, where she underwent an
operation for tumor. She died at the hospital on Monday, April 4th,
1921. She was a member
of Forest Queen Camp, R.N. of A. and also a member of the F.R.A.
Council No. 123. The funeral was
held Wednesday afternoon, April 6, Rev. Bickell officiating. Deceased was a
kind and loving wife and mother and her kindly personality won for
her a place in the hearts of all who knew her. Her many friends in
the city and community fell a sense of personal loss at her
death. Those who were
here from away to attend the funeral were; Mrs. Nettie Nash of
Ironton, Wis., Mr. West Apker of Madison, Wis., Mrs. Ebe Apker, Mr.
Harve Sloniker, Mrs. Florence Drake and Mr. B. Apker, all of
Wonewoc, Wis.
