Williamson was born in the state of Maine Feb. 10, 1853. He came to
Galesville, Wis. when about ten years old, where he grew to
manhood. He came to Clark County, Wis. and was engaged in the
lumber business for several years, having worked with some of our
old residents as Robert Schofield, James Bryden and John
Stuart. In 1875 he married
Nettie Cummings and lived at Longwood and Withee for some time.
Later he moved to Greenwood, where he built the residence now
occupied by Joe Christie. For the past
twenty years he has lived in St. Paul, Minn., where he has been
employed by the Twin City Pipe Co. He died May 19, 1923. Mr. Williamson had
a very pleasing personality, winning many friends and was an
especial lover of children. He was the father of eleven children,
two having died in infancy. Those who survive
him are his wife, six sons, Arthur of California, Irvin, Guy, Roy,
Floyd and Bert, all of St. Paul, and three daughters, Mrs. Wm.
Gallagher, Mrs. Geo. Wambill of St. Paul and Mrs. Louie Larson of
Yakima, Wash. All the children
except Arthur attended the funeral Tuesday May 22 at St. Paul. The body was
brought back to Greenwood Wednesday May 23 for burial in the
Greenwood Cemetery. Burial services were conducted by the Masons.
