(27 NOV 1847 - 27 JUN 1928) Thomas Thompson
died Wednesday morning, June 27, 1928 at the home of Rev. Theo.
Kleppe at Chippewa Falls, after being ill since last fall. Mr. Thompson was
born at Vestre Toten, Norway, Nov. 27, 1847 and immigrated to
America in 1869. He was united in marriage to Anna Tonette Fosheim
from Gulbrandadalen, Norway in 1877. With his wife he located in La
Crosse, Wis., later in Neillsville and Greenwood, Clark County,
Wis. His wife died Aug. 26, 1922. He is survived by
one sister, Mrs. O. Lowe of Neillsville and two brothers in Norway.
Funeral services were held at the United Lutheran Church in
Greenwood, Friday afternoon, June 29th, Rev. M.K. Aaberg of this
city and Rev. Theo. Kleppe of Chippewa Falls officiated. The body
was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery. In his death we
fully and keenly realize our loss. He was a true friend and his
devotion to those he loved would make a bright chapter in any life.
While he has gone from scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and
pleasures of life, he will still live in the hearts of those who
knew him best
