GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 08/09/1934 Zetsch, Frank (11
NOV 1848 - 2 Augl 1934) Frank Zetsch, son
of Ambrose and Justina Zetsche, was born in Saxony, Germany, on
Nov. 11, 1848 and passed away at his home in Greenwood, Clark
County, Wis., Aug. 2, 1934 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 20
days. When nineteen
years of age he immigrated to the United States, locating near
Milwaukee. On Nov. 21, 1872
he was united in marriage to Ida Fricke of Newburg, Wis., who
preceded him in death on Sep 30, 1921. On May 1, 1874 they moved
from Milwaukee and settled on a farm on the 26 Road, southeast of
Greenwood, where they resided until 1898, when they sold the farm
and moved to this city, where he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn
his death one daughter, Mathilda, Mrs. Thomas Fahey and one son,
Robert Zetsch, both of Greenwood, four grandchildren and a host of
friends. Funeral services
were held from the home Saturday afternoon, Aug. 4th, Rev. Glenn
Shanks officiating. He was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery
beside his wife. The services at the cemetery were conducted by the
Odd Fellows Lodge of Withee, of which he was a member. With the passing
of Mr. Zetsche, Greenwood loses another of its old settlers who
came to this vicinity when it was a wilderness and by their hard
work made it what we have today. He will be sadly missed by all who
knew him.
