Afkind, Julia A. (27 Jul 1872 - 24 Mar 1935)

Mrs. Charles Afkind, nee Julia Augusta Garross, was born July 27, 1872 near Rushmore, Nobles County, Minn., and died at her home in Greenwood, Clark County, Sunday, March 24, 1935 at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to Charles Afkind July 20, 1904 and in 1918 they moved to Greenwood, where they have since made their home. To this union were born three children, Melva and Clayton. Alvin preceded her in death in the year 1919.

Mrs. Afkind was a loving mother, a kind neighbor, a good friend and will be sadly missed in her home. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, two children, Melva and Clayton; one brother, Thomas Garross of Bismarck, N.D.; besides a host of relatives and a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held from the United Lutheran Church Wednesday, March 27, Rev. M.K Aaberg officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
