Carpenter, well known here, died in the hospital at Oshkosh April
28th, 1920, aged nearly 42 years. She was born in the town of
Fremont, Clark County, Wis., Sept. 13, 1878. She attended school in
Neillsville and became a successful teacher. For some time before
her death she had been working in a factory in Oshkosh. She is well
remembered here as a high school student and won many friends by
her good disposition and faithful work. She leaves her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carpenter, who formerly lived here and
now reside in Oshkosh; three sisters: Mrs. Abbie Secord of Duluth,
Mrs. Sarah Carter of Burley, Wash., and Miss Sylvia Carpenter at
home, and one brother, Wm. Carpenter of Marshfield, also a
daughter, Helen Wood, living with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Carpenter. The funeral was
held Saturday at Granton.
