(19 OCT 1859 - 15 Sep 1920) Herbert Visgar,
formerly well known here, died at Oshkosh, Sept. 15, 1920, aged 60
years, 10 months and 27 days. He was born at Iron Ridge, Wis., Oct.
19, 1859 and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Visgar, to
Clark County, Wis. when he was about 14 years old. His father ran a
saw mill in the north part of the town of Grant and he worked there
as he grew up. He followed this line of work for many years. For
some time, he worked for J.C. Marsh at Spokeville. Later he spent
several years in the west. He was married to
Miss Mary Gergen in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., April 26th,
1882. She survives him. He leaves also two daughters, Mrs. George
H. Miller of Ladysmith and Mrs. Raymond Colby of Loyal. His remains
were brought here from Oshkosh and the funeral was held Sunday at
the home of Mrs. E. Gergen, Rev. W.T. Scott officiating, the Modern
Woodmen, of which order deceased had long been a member, also using
their funeral ritual.
