(Apr 1837 - 13 OCT 1920) James Sternitzky,
a well known and highly respected retired pioneer farmer of the
town of Lynn, Clark County, Wis., answered the final summons at his
home here at at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning. Mr. Sternitzky was
born in Germany in April of 1837 and came to this country with his
parents in the summer of 1840. The parents first settled in
Buffalo, N.Y., coming to Clark County and the town of Lynn first in
1856, and located on a 200 acre tract in Sec. 8. Charles, an older
brother of James, bought this tract from the Government and resided
there until his death about 20 years ago. Deceased was
married to Miss Mary Hetzel of Racine Co., at Almond on Feb. 11,
1872, and is survived by his wife, one son, Fred, of the town of
York, by four daughters, Gradel, Mrs. Jake Breseman, Emma, Mrs. W.
Westbroker and Miss Martha of Marshfield, and Susan, Mrs. Will Van
Ryne of Kewaunee, Ill., by ten grandchildren and by 15
great-grandchildren. Deceased also is
survived by three brothers, William, Ernest and Henry, all highly
respected, well known residents of the town of Lynn. (Granton News)
