County Republican & Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 05/26/1921 Bandelow, Margaret
(12 Augl 1838 - 15 May 1921) Mrs. Carl
Bandelow, mother of George W. Bandelow of South Pine Valley, Clark
County, Wis., died at her home in Hartford, Wis., May 15, 1921,
aged 82 years, 9 months and three days. She was born in Germany and
spent her girlhood days there. She came to this country with
friends in 1856, and settled in Fond du Lac County. Sept. 1863 she
was married to Carl Bandelow, who preceded her in death 27 years
ago. Since that time she has lived most of the time at Hartford,
Wis., except more than a year spent at Neillsville, with her son,
Geo. W. Bandelow. While here she made many good friends among those
who met her. Of her the Hartford Times says: "Margaret Bandelow
was one of this city’s most highly respected citizens, who
possessed all the qualities of heart and mind which are prized in
true womanhood. She was tireless as a worker for her family, and
her home was her realm of happiness in which she reigned supreme.
She was a friends of all, and these friends and relatives will
enshrine her memory in their hearts for all time." She leaves four
daughters, Mrs. Christ Roemer of Hartford, Mrs. Chas. Roemer of
Rubicon, Mrs. Chas. French of Hartford and Mrs. Barney Radke of
Hartford town; and one son, George W. Bandelow of Pine Valley. The
funeral was held last week Wednesday, Mr. Bandelow and son, Marlin,
attending.
