Noel, Leonard (27 MAR 1873 - 12 Jul 1921)

Leonard Noel died suddenly at his home in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., Tuesday noon, July 12, 1921. He had come in from the field with his team, watered them, and took a drink of water himself at the well and was leading the team to the barn. His niece, who was at the well for a pail of water looked around and saw him lying on the ground and the horses going about loose. Whether he fainted and fell or whether the horses in some way knocked him down, May never be known. There was blood oozing from one ear, and in a moment he was dead.

Leonard Noel was born on the farm where he died and where he had lived all his life, March 27, 1873, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Noel. His father died several years ago, the rest of the family grew up and went out for themselves, but Leonard stayed with his mother on the old farm. He was industrious, a good farmer, honest in every way, a good neighbor and kind and devoted to his aged mother. He will be sadly missed in the home, where only a granddaughter remains. Deceased leaves five brothers: Wendell of Hot Springs, S.D.; Matt, Bert of Richland Center; George of Waupun and John of Madison, also one sister, Alice, Mrs. John Ackerman, of Richland Co.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9 o’clock at the home and at the M.E. Church at 10 o’clock. The Odd Fellows, of which deceased was a member, will take part in the services.
