Sternitzky, who lived a short distance east of Granton, Clark
County, Wis., died after's short illness from trichinosis, Jan. 23,
1921. Several doctors were in attendance, but could not stay the
disease. She was only 56
years of age and a woman of vigorous health. The rare disease from
which she died is said to be caused by eating pork which has not
been thoroughly cooked, and which contains the microbe trichina.
Mrs. Sternitzky is survived by her husband and five sons, Oscar,
Louis, Alvin, married and living in the town of Lynn, and Charles
and Rudolph at home, also by her aged mother, Mrs. Dora Garbisch
and eight brothers. The funeral was
held Sunday at the German Lutheran Church at Granton.
