County Republican & Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 03/17/1921 Elliot, Charlotte
(Marriage - 11 Mar 1921) Mr. Jesse A.
Leason and Miss Charlotte Elliott were married at St. Paul, Friday
March 11, 1921, Rev. Chas. Grant of Faith Lutheran Church
officiating. The groom is the
son of Dr. and Mrs. W.A. Leason of this city (Neillsville, Clark
County, Wis.) He grew up here, graduated from Neillsville High
School and Marquette University in Milwaukee. He early displayed
exceptional ability as a writer, and his course in the University
prepared him specially for journalism. He found immediate
employment on large city papers and was employed on the staff of
the Milwaukee Journal when the war came on. He entered the army and
served eight months. After returning from the army and recovering
from a severe sickness he again began work for the Journal, later
being offered a better position on the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He
has been repeatedly promoted and now has a good place on the
editorial staff. He is one of the boys of Neillsville who has made
good all along the line. He has a rare vein of talent and has been
faithful in developing it, and also is using his talent for the
best things. The bride is not
known to people here, but we May well judge her to be a young lady
of talent and high character. She has spent a year on the lyceum
platform. Her home is in Los Angeles, her father being Arthur D.
Elliott, a prominent businessman formerly of Niagara Falls,
N.Y. We extend to this
young couple our heartiest wishes for success and happy life.
