County Republican & Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 06/30/1921 Beddall, Lois M.
(Marriage - 25 JUN 1921) County
Superintendent of Schools Oscar J. Thompson and Miss Lois M.
Beddall were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Beddall, in Ellsworth, Wis., June 25, 1921, Rev. G.A.
Bird of River Falls, performing the ceremony. The bride was
attended by her sister, Mrs. Newell Redmond, and County Agent, Mr.
H.M. Knipfel, of Neillsville acted as groomsman. The people of
Clark County, Wis. as a whole and Neillsville in particular will be
greatly interested in this event. Mr. Thompson as high school
principal of Greenwood and later as county Superintendent, has made
an excellent record as a school man in this county, and has
everywhere developed the cooperation of the people in his work and
their good will toward him. He resigned his position at Greenwood
to enter the army, and on return was appointed to fill the vacancy
caused by the resignation of Miss Kennedy, and has since been
re-elected without opposition. The bride comes to Neillsville a
stranger, but we all have full faith in Mr. Thompson’s good
judgment in selecting good teachers, and believe that he has
displayed equally good sense in choosing a wife. We feel sure that
she will receive a warm welcome by the people of Neillsville and
throughout the county. The arrived from Ellsworth Monday and will
be at home after Aug. 1, at the rooms in the Dr. Bradbury
residence.
