(24 Feb 1957 - 7 OCT 2002) Barry R. Wegner,
45, Unity, Wis., died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, from injuries
sustained in a truck accident. Funeral services were held at 11
a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church,
Riplinger. The Rev. Steven Gjerde officiated. Barry Ray Wegner
was born on Feb. 24, 1957, in Milwaukee, to Raymond and Marguerite
(nee Gibson) Wegner. He was a 1975 graduate of Sussex-Hamilton High
School and later was employed at Friday Canning Company, Sussex. He
married Lizabeth Hanna on May 2, 1981, in Sussex. In 1983, they
began farming in Richfield and later in 1986 in Dalton. In 1989,
the family moved to the town of Unity to farm. He lived there until
the time of his death. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran
Church. His interests included the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and
league bowling in Colby. Survivors include
his wife, Beth Wegner, Abbotsford; his father, Raymond Wegner,
Sussex; four children, Clayton Wegner, Spencer, Sara Wegner,
Marshfield, Carri Wegner, Spencer, and Megan Wegner, Spencer; one
brother, Carl (Jane) Wegner, Markesan; one niece, Amanda Wegner;
and one nephew, Casey Wegner. Preceding him in
death were his mother, Marguerite Wegner; one brother, Michael
Wegner; and his grandparents. Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford,
assisted the family with arrangements.
