Seliskar, Evelyn M. (11 Jul 1912 - 17 OCT 2002)

Evelyn M. Seliskar, 90, Menomonie, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., died on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Myrtle Werth Hospital, Menomonie. A memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Evelyn M. Pahl was born on July 11, 1912, in Merrill, to William and Clara (nee Leisman) Pahl. She graduated with high honors from Merrill High School in 1930, and graduated from Wausau Memorial School of Nursing in 1933. She married Philip J. Seliskar on Aug. 31, 1934, in Virginia, Minn. They moved to Waukegan, Ill., and then to Greenwood, in 1945, where they operated a family farm. She moved to Greenwood in 1969 following her husband’s death. She entered a Neillsville nursing home in 1998 and later moved to Menomonie.

Survivors include one son, Bill (Gale) Seliskar, Morrilton, Ark.; two daughters, Judy (Mike) Seliskar-Benzel, Menomonie, and Mary Ann Seliskar, Neillsville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Evie Seliskar, Greenwood.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Philip; one daughter, Phyllis Jurceka; one son, James Seliskar; and three brothers.

Wisconsin Cremation Services, Eau Claire, assisted the family with arrangements.
