(9 Jul 1912 - 10 NOV 2002) Renata I. Kalsow,
90, Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002,
at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from
5-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Gesche Funeral Home,
Neillsville, and for one hour prior to an 11 a.m. funeral service
on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran Church.
Music will be provided by Virginia Karnitz, organist, and
congregational singing. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Renata Ida
Eberhardt was born on July 9, 1912, in the town of Pine Valley, to
Richard and Martha (nee Callies) Eberhardt. She attended the
Lutheran School in Neillsville for all but one year, during which
she attended the Mound School while the Grand Avenue Bridge was
out. After finishing her schooling, she worked for the Kearns
family, doing housekeeping, childcare, and working the fountain at
the Kearns Drug-store. She also worked for the Ben Stucki family
also doing housekeeping, childcare and helping at the Indian
School. She married Hans Kalsow on June 14, 1933, at the Globe
church. After their marriage, she raised her family and helped on
the family farm. She was a member of the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran
Church. Her interests included crocheting and making rugs. Survivors include
one son, Robert (Carol) Kalsow, Neillsville; one daughter, Edna
(Alton) O’Leary, Humbird; six grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roland (Lorraine) Eberhardt,
Eugene, Ore., and Alvin (Mary) Eberhardt, Laona; and many nieces
and nephews. Preceding her in
death were her husband, Hans, in 2000; one sister, Elsie; and two
brothers, Herbert and Gerald. The Gesche Funeral
Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
