Volovsek, 71, Willard, Clark County, Wis., died on Saturday, Nov.
16, 2002, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, Thorp. Visitation will be
held from 5-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service, on Thurs-day,
Nov. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Funeral services
will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 22, at Holy Family
Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Inurnment
will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Herrick,
Ron Volovsek, Dale Petkovsek, Dean Millerman, Richie Yurkovich and
Dennis Weincek. William Joseph
Volovsek was born on March 26, 1931, in the town of Hendren, to
Frank and Anna (nee Flis) Volovsek. He was raised on the family
farm and educated at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Greenwood.
He married Bernice Schnitzler on Aug. 26, 1950, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Marsh-field. They farmed in the Willard area until
1969, when they sold the farm and moved to a home near North Mound.
He worked as the town of Loyal’s grader operator for four
years. He later worked part time helping neighbors with carpentry
and bulldozing. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church,
where he was active in the choir. He was a former member of the
Clark County Male Chorus and occasionally played drums for the
Richie Yurkovich Orchestra. His interests included hunting,
fishing, bowling, baseball, pool, horseshoes, cards, music,
woodcrafts and animals. Survivors include
his wife, Bernice, Willard; three daughters, Diane (Earl) George,
Marshfield, Nancy Jo (Don) Garner, Kaukauna, and Shari (Duane)
Hahn, Elkhorn; one daughter-in-law, Rosie Volovsek, Marshfield;
four grandchildren, Nick and Jay Volovsek, Jeanie Klinke and
Matthew Hahn; three step-grandchildren, Kerry, Don and Aaron; three
step-great-grand-children, Zac, Alexis and Paige; five brothers,
Joe Volovsek, Waukesha, Stanley (Darlene) Volovsek, Greenwood, Al
(Virginia) Volovsek, Greenwood, Tony Volovsek, Kamiak, Idaho, and
John Volovsek, Uvalde, Texas; and three sisters, Mary (Vitko)
Staut, Greenwood, Margie Jeras, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Betty
Fraid, West Allis. Preceding him in
death were his parents; one son, Mike; one step great-grandson,
Sidney; one brother, Frank Volovsek; and two sisters, Anna Lohrman
and Elizabeth Volovsek, in infancy. Cuddie Funeral
Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
