Asplund, Esther E. (11 Sep 1917 - 23 Sep 2002)

OWEN - Esther E. Asplund, 85, Owen, Clark County, Wis., died at her town of Hoard residence on Sept. 23, 2002, where she had lived since October 2001.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

Esther Emma Wedin was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Perkinstown, the daughter of Louis and Minda (Larson) Wedin. Esther and Arnold E. Asplund were united in marriage Aug. 30, 1947, in Georgia. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1994.

She retired from the telephone office in Shawnee Mission, Kan., in August 1981.

Surviving her are two sons, James (Lois) Asplund and Lloyd (Sharon) Hayton, all of Colby; a daughter, Linda Asplund of Owen; a former daughter-in-law, Sandra Asplund of Colby; a sister, Hilda Wetzel of Owen; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
