Schiltz, Lorraine K. (17 Jul 1957 - 14 Dec 2002)
Lorraine K. "Lori" Schiltz, 45, Medford, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, following a 14-month battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, on Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Adult Choir. The Rev. Woodrow Pace will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Neillsville. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Shawn Helwig, James Hansen and Kyle Rickert, and her friends, Rick Krueger, Dawn Voelker and Jim Asplund.
Lorraine Kaye Hansen was born on July 17, 1957, in Neillsville, to Leland and Dorothy (nee Rennak) Hansen. She attended school in Loyal through her sophomore year in high school and then, after her family moved to Neillsville in 1972, graduated from Neillsville High School in 1975. After graduation, she married William Schiltz in Texas. They were later divorced. She was a bookkeeper and worked in the tire service industry. Most recently, she worked at Meyer Tire + Service, Medford. She also owned and operated a vinyl graphics business in Colby and Medford called LKS Graphics. She created the graphics on many area stock cars. Her interests included singing, karaoke, playing the keyboard, hunting, gardening, camping and stock car races.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Schiltz and Mark Schiltz, both of Medford; her fiance, Rod Meyer, Medford; her father, Leland "Lee" (Margorie Garbisch) Hansen, Neillsville; four brothers, LeRoy "Lee" (Kris) Hansen, Pine Valley, Utah, Ken (Carla) Hansen, Ludlow, Vt., Dick (Connie) Hansen, Roscoe, Ill., and Len (Mary) Hansen, Green Bay; one sister, Dianne (Mike) Beaufeaux, Rhinelander; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her mother, Dorothy, and her grandparents.
The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
