Englebretson, Jimmie L. (9 JUN 1945 - 16 Dec 2002)

Jimmie L. Englebretson, 57, Knapp, died on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at his home. Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville. The Rev. Keith Anderson officiated. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers were Kenny Isler, Mike Hyland, Loren Quelle, Neil Krause, Denny Gunderson and Carroll Klanderman.

Jimmie Lee Englebretson was born on June 9, 1945, in Greenwood, to James and Ila Mae (nee Salzwedel) Englebretson. He was raised in Greenwood and received his education through ninth grade there. He then went to Owen-Withee High School, where he graduated in 1963. He married Jeanne Christensen on Nov. 14, 1964, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee. She died on Dec. 7, 1990. He married Betty (Rumphol) Sukopp on Sept. 14, 1997, at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville. He worked as a truck driver most of his life, beginning in Madison in the late 1960s. He started working for UPS in Madison in May 1969 and was transferred to Baldwin in 1972. He worked for UPS for 32 years, retiring in 2001. He lived in Woodville from 1972-95, and then moved to Baldwin. He lived in Knapp for the last five years. He was active in his church, serving as Sunday school superintendent and president of the church council. His interests included hunting, fishing, boating, camping, other outdoor activities and collecting motor vehicles.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, Knapp; four children, Jarrod (Cheryl) Englebretson, Edina, Minn., Jason (Amy) Englebretson, Amery, Jennifer (Dean) Bennett, St. Paul, Minn., and Jessica (Greg) Weyer, Menomonie; two stepdaughters, Sandi (Wes) Dunn, Wyoming, and Suzi (Ron) Bibeau, Baldwin; one stepson, Scott (Mindy) Sukopp, Chetek; 14 grandchildren; four sisters, Arlene (Jim) Egan, Willard, Opal Marciniak, Kaukauna, Faye (Larry) Lange, Spencer, and Annabelle Cheney, Arizona; two brothers, Archie (Marlene) Hendrickson, Willard, and Robert Englebretson, Chippewa Falls; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Jeanne; an infant son, Loren; and five brothers, Bill Englebretson, Clayton Englebretson, Rodney Hendrickson, Henry Hendrickson and Orville Hendrickson.
